From Physician Assistant to Veterinarian: A Dream Fulfilled

Thirty Years in Broad Ripple

Thirty years ago, in 1981 Dr. David Brunner opened the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic in a little shopping center on College Ave. With one employee, he proudly recounts the days when he would see an appointment in the morning, then run to the south side of Indianapolis to cover emergency hours, then hurry back to Broad Ripple for an evening appointment. Through his sheer will power, dedication to veterinary medicine, and love for the community of Broad Ripple and Meridian-Kessler, Dr. Brunner has managed to survive two major recessions and grow the original 800 square foot practice into something quite special.

The Life of a Veterinarian: Finding Balance

Everyone has the dilemma of finding a balance between work and home.  For me, they are the two most important things in my life.  I told myself when I graduated veterinary school that I was going to be the best veterinarian that I could be and in order to strive for that goal, sitting back and coasting wasn’t an option.  And here I am several years later, working as the Medical Director of the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic and Wellness Center, right here in Indianapolis! Introducing Dr. Sara Rudwell

Dr. Sara RudwellBroad Ripple Animal Clinic and Wellness Center would like to introduce everyone to our newest Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Sara Rudwell. Dr. Rudwell received her DVM degree from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Rudwell was a proud graduate of Indiana University, where she received a BS in Business in 1997. After working in the Information Technology industry for over 5 years, she made the choice to return to school and pursue a degree in veterinary medicine, a career much closer to her heart. She began working at BRAC in 2003, where she quickly realized that she was learning from the best!
